“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” - John 3:17
GLORY BAPTIST CHURCH
We currently support missionaries around the world through our Faith Promise missions program. Our desire is to do all we can to reach a lost and dying world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is our belief that missions is not just a program of the Church but the PURPOSE of the Church. Because the Bible indicates that missions should begin at home, every week our visitation teams hit the streets of Union County to share the good news of Jesus Christ. It would be hypocritical of us to send missionaries across the world with the gospel if we would not cross the street with it. We fully intended to feature at least one missionary per month on this page, but due to the circumstances some of our missionaries face on the field, we feel it may endanger some of them to do so. If you are a MISSIONARY SEEKING SUPPORT, you may send a packet of information to the church mailing address or email address. We wish we could support every godly missionary that contacts us, but we cannot. Our missions director looks over every packet of information received and files those that are of like faith and practice. Missionaries are called from this file to come present their work as the pastor feels led. There is no need to call the church office because this is exactly what you be will instructed to do. You may send an email to our Missions Director to let him know to expect your packet. Please include your burden and/or field of service in the subject line of the email.
Our C.A.R.E. Team consists of people who not only have the time but the God given love and desire to truly care for others. Two passages of scripture come to mind when we think of our C.A.R.E. team: 1) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40) 2) Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27) Saints and sinners alike are hurting in these days. We believe it is our responsibility to show the love of our Lord to them in order to strengthen the brethren and win the lost. If we do not love people, who will? The activities of our C.A.R.E. Team include: - Welcoming visitors - Following up with visitors - Visiting and ministering to the sick, the shut-in, the needy, the imprisoned, and the bereaved. - Community service projects Come be a part of making a difference in peoples’ lives as we follow our Lord’s example.
